Step Into Your Power

hair blowing in windNever be afraid to “try your hand” because you don’t want to make a mistake or not do something “right.” Success in life comes from being willing to move into Uncharted Territory.

Always remember: Life begins at the end of your
Comfort Zone.

I’m sharing this quote with you today, because it is so right on. This is a note from “Conversations with God” author Neale Donald Walsh.

How many times have you kept from doing something because you were afraid you would fail or look foolish? It seems counter-intuitive, I know, but the moment we step out of our comfort zone, we come into our power. Think of a time you did something that you were really scared or nervous to do…maybe it was speak in front of your class, or run a race, or go out for the team, or try out for a part in a play. Think about how apprehensive you were and maybe even thought about backing out at the last minute. Recall that time you did it anyway, regardless of the nerves and the fear, you went out there and did it anyway. How did you feel after? Did it seem like the fear dissipated? Was it even real or valid? Do you remember how good and powerful you felt once you did it in spite of your fear?

So many people play small in their lives. The underlying reason is FEAR. Fear keeps us stuck from moving forward. Fear squelches talent and music. What is keeping you from doing what you know you need to do or want to do now? Fear of the unknown, fear of being judged, fear of failure, fear of success. There are so many to choose from. But what is FEAR really?

  • False
  • Evidence
  • Appears
  • Real.

Has it ever occurred to you that Fear isn’t real at all?!

Unless you’re being chased by a tiger or in a battle at war…the only fear there is, lives between your ears….in your own mind. It is a projection into the future, based on disempowering experiences in the past. It has nothing to do with the now reality. If you ever did experience true life-threatening fear, you become completely present in the moment in a super-hyper sensitive way. True fear is based in the NOW. False fear is based on the past and future and the meaning you assign it.

Stop Looking in the Rear View Mirror, Unless That’s the Direction You Want to Go!

Take a moment and recall when you were a child, before you knew better, before people told you, “you can’t do that?” Or “You’re not smart enough, good enough, skinny enough, rich enough, pretty enough, popular enough, old enough or even young enough…..” Did I miss any?

What did you imagine you could be? What did you imagine you could do?

Take a moment and close your eyes and remember the dreams you had of who you were and who you would become. Remember to take a deep breath and exhale…clear your mind. Do you remember how you just knew what you were going to do, how you knew who you already were?

What if I told you, that if you could imagine it, then it was possible for you? Consider for a moment, if you can imagine yourself making those sales calls, speaking in front of a group, traveling to Greece, working out and becoming a healthy size 8, then you can do it. If it wasn’t possible for you, then it wouldn’t be anywhere in your consciousness. Therefore, if you have imagined something, you can do it. It is possible.

The only thing holding you back from being, having, doing, is you and those thoughts in your head.

What if there is no such thing as failure? What if every experience, everything you try, everything you do is about growth and learning…taking you step by step to your success? If you knew you could not fail, what would you do? Let’s pretend for a moment, that you cannot fail…Let’s assume that failure is an idea that lives in your mind only. What would you do? Would you come out of your comfort zone and say, “heck with it, I’m doing it anyway?” Would you give yourself permission to be your authentic self in every way?

You deserve nothing less and you know what? Fear, failure…it truly lives only in your mind. It isn’t real.

Hypnotherapy can be a wonderful tool to help you truly own this new paradigm, this new empowering belief. You owe it to yourself to be the best you, you can be…to sing your song, live your life with passion and purpose and be uniquely you. True confidence is yours to own and is found on the other side of FEAR.
